Our services range from day to day support, configuring workstations, implementing and upgrading networks, teaching people how to use software, malware remediation, repairing computers to choosing the right equipment, internet service provider or cloud vendor for your business. |

Company History: In 1983, two years after the
IBM Personal Computer was introduced, there weren’t any places to learn how
to use these new computers. Having
a background in training and hospitality systems and observing a growing need
for people to learn how to use the personal computer, I formed PC Tutor, Ltd.
in 1984. The
newly opened computer stores didn’t offer training. This provided us the opportunity to
establish a relationship with them to provide this service to their
customers. They referred PC Tutor,
Ltd. for training and we reciprocated by sending the hardware and software
sales business back to them. Inevitably,
training would be hampered when something wouldn’t work on a machine. In those days, finding hardware repair was
as difficult as finding a trainer. It
was therefore, necessary to get under the hood and learn the inner workings
of the machine. It was
not uncommon to fix a glitch by opening the computer and literally, flipping
a switch inside of it. Once the
machine was working, training could begin.
Having hardware expertise along with the patience to teach, helped us adapt
to the fast paced changes inherent in the new technology and with the high
speed which people were obtaining personal computers. As
people became more adept at using computers, less training was needed. We honed our technical skills and enhanced
our offerings to include network installation and support services. Today,
our primary business is systems integration for small and medium sized
businesses. This encompasses,
consulting, troubleshooting, repair, network installation, hardware, software
sales, cloud and other service recommendations, including on-going support
services, and yes, we still do training. In the
90’s, the computer store we did business with, along with many other computer
stores, closed their doors. Our
clients continued to depend on us to make hardware and service decisions for
them. PC Tutor, Ltd. became resellers
of computer hardware, including PC’s, notebooks, servers, software, printers,
switches, firewalls, cabling, warranties, etc. More
than 25 years later, we continue to serve businesses that have from 1 to 50 users
within a 100 mile radius of New York City.
This includes New Jersey, Connecticut, Rockland, Orange, and
Westchester Counties. Upon request, we
also perform services for clients that have offices outside our immediate
service area. |
